Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation
At Elle Aesthetic Arts, our commitment to Elevated Aesthetics means that we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to cosmetic procedures. Breast augmentation with fat transfer goes above and beyond increasing breast size to create couture cleavage. Combining fat transfer techniques with breast implants allows us to give you a more customized result.
Loudoun County Plastic Surgeon Dr. Larry Lickstein is dedicated to helping women feel comfortable and confident in their bodies. Breast augmentation with fat transfer can be an ideal way to achieve enhanced cleavage with natural-looking results. This type of breast augmentation is a good option for patients who want to add volume to the upper breast without a very large implant, those whose natural breasts are wide-set, and those who want the look of cleavage without a bra. Adding fat transfer to breast augmentation can also be advantageous for patients who are very slender, as it can add a softness and contour to ensure a natural-looking result.

What To Expect During Breast Augmentation With Fat Transfer
Preparing for Surgery
During your personal consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your desires and review your options for breast augmentation with fat transfer. You’ll leave this appointment with a treatment plan that is designed for your unique goals.
To prepare for your breast augmentation with a fat transfer procedure, you’ll need to quit smoking, and you may be required to stop taking certain medications. You’ll need to arrange to have someone pick you up and drive you home following surgery, and you’ll also need to enlist a friend or family member to stay with you for at least 24 hours following surgery.
How Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer Works
Breast augmentation with fat transfer is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. The first phase of surgery is a fat graft harvest procedure, which Dr. Lickstein will perform with either syringe aspiration or a modified liposuction technique. Fat will be removed from the belly, thighs, or other site determined during your consultation, and specially treated to preserve the viability of live fat cells.
Dr. Lickstein will then make an incision predetermined by your custom surgical plan and create the pocket to snuggly accommodate the implant that will achieve your desired breast aesthetic. Once the breast pockets are ready, Dr. Lickstein will try several breast implant sizers to make sure that you receive the implant size that best fits your body and your aesthetic goals.
Dr. Lickstein will place the implant into its final position, either over or under the pectoral muscle depending on your preferences and anatomy. Then he’ll suture the incisions closed and strategically inject your own fat to build out the cleavage before placing you in a support bra.
Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer Recovery
After breast augmentation with fat transfer, you’ll be provided with detailed instructions for postoperative care in addition to medications to ensure your comfort during the recovery period.
It’s normal to experience some swelling, tightness, and soreness for the first few weeks following surgery. It’s important to minimize activity for the first two days, and recline in an upright position to ease discomfort and swelling. You can plan to return to the office to see Dr. Lickstein one week after surgery so he can review your healing progress to remove any sutures.
